About Self-Reliant Group (SRG) Capacity Strengthening Project: Plan International Nepal earlier supported a three year Self-Reliant Group Capacity Strengthening Project in Bardiya district.The project primarily aimed to form Women Cooperatives out of the SRG. The new phase of this project planned for the period of January to December 2017 aims at supporting the members of the SRGs/Cooperatives to start group enterprises so that they gradually develop knowledge, skills and confidence in doing enterprises. The main objectives of the project is to capacitate Women Cooperatives to increase their outreach and financial resources for sustainability and to generate and mobilize funds following cooperative best practices.
Purpose: The position holder will be responsible to coordinate program planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and reporting of the SRG Capacity Building Project in Bardiya District at the community level. S/he will ensure qualitative implementation of the project interventions at the community and district level.
Terms and Location: Fixed term employment till 31 December 2017 based in Bardiya Project Office.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

• Masters in Agriculture/ Natural Resource/ Agricultural Economics or relevant field.
• At least 4 years’ relevant working experience in livelihood and microfinance related program.
• Knowledge on principles and microfinance best practices and implementation approaches in a range of diverse geographical and community groups.
• Proven experience in coordination, liaison and networking managing teams, finance and other critical management domains.
• INGO work experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversight and manage the SRG Capacity Building Project budget.
• Manage and coordinate for project planning and implementation at community and district level.
• Develop quality project interventions and facilitate to implement it.
• Carryout mapping of Women Cooperatives to find out their capacity building needs.
• Develop an annual target of outreach, share increment and saving increment plan of each cooperative and ensure that the targets are achieved as planned.
• Ensure that the manager and key executive committee members of the Women Cooperative acquire adequate skills, knowledge and capacity to keep books.
• Ensure the SRG members are provided with quality micro-enterprise development training and are engaged in self-employment upon completion of training by borrowing
• loan from cooperatives.
• Ensure reach of marginalized women from freed Kamaiya, freed Kamlahari, Dalits, and economically poor households from Madhesi communities.
• Ensure that the monthly outreach and financial target of each cooperative are reviewed and timely actions taken to realize it.
• Ensure effective monitoring, accountability and knowledge sharing among partners and beyond.
