Position: Research Officer
Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Job:
Participate in the research data collection, data management and data analysis of the ongoing research studies. Ensure compliance of the research activities with approved protocol and overall research objectives.
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Officer will involve him/herself to research activities in designated working station and will:
- Carry out research data collection according to approved research protocols.
- Perform various core data collection activities including baseline, midline and end-line quantitative and qualitative data collection at various time points.
- Create presentation slides and posters to help researchers present findings.
- Assist in development, planning and management of research projects in coordination with Principal Investigator (PI).
- Meet regularly with PI and others to discuss research study related topics.
- Assist Project Manager to prepare and finalize project reports to be submitted internally or externally throughout the year.
- Ethical management of human participants in research studies.
- Review existing available research study related SOPs and documents.
- Contribute in the development of relevant research articles (manuscripts and research proposals).
- Handle logistics support for ordering, inventory, maintenance and repair of equipment and supplies.
- Actively participate in various workshops and training.
- Enthusiastic for working in an interdisciplinary team and preparedness to work in other research projects when necessary.
- Report to line manager for any issues regarding research study related issues.
Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or other relevant fields with at least 2 years of working experience in related fields.
- Should possess competency in good clinical practice.
- Should have sound knowledge and experience of quantitative and qualitative data collection skills.
- Willingness to travel to data collection sites regularly.
- Priorities will be given to those holding driving license.
- Demonstrated skills on handling data collection software like REDCAP, KOBO, MWATER etc.
- Analytical, observation, technical, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of similar research and data collection methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Nepali and English.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software.
