TITLE: Trainee- Finance

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Finance Trainee supports the KOICA Finance Coordinator in managing financial documentation, and compliance processes. The role ensures timely, accurate, and quality financial document management, including data recording, reviewing supporting documents, managing staff advances, ensuring correct coding, and scanning all financial documentation into KOICA Financial report. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring adherence to Save the Children financial policies and KOICA compliance.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Documentation, Data Recording, and Reporting
- Assist in checking that all required supporting documents are attached and properly organized for each payment.
- Support the scanning and uploading of monthly financial documents according to AMS deadlines agreed with SCK, contributing to document retention and donor compliance requirements.
- Support to Preparation necessary documents for reporting and respond to feedback from SCK regarding financial documentation and reporting under the guidance of the Finance Coordinator.
- Help organize and file original and copy financial documents to ensure they arereadily available for KOICA reviews, internal checks, and audits.
2. Advances and Reconciliation
- Support understanding of the KOICA Donor reporting code (DRC) and Sub-Item structure and help verify that each expenditure is correctly booked under the appropriate DRC & Sub-Item.
- Assist in verifying that monthly reported figures match the amounts reflected in the monthly Financial Reports reviewed by SCK.
- Assist in checking that monthly DRC-level expenditure aligns with the monthly Financial Reports reviewed by SCK.
3. Compliance and Internal Controls
- Support in verifying and managing English translations, and in converting and recording Nepali Bikram Sambat (B.S.) dates into Gregorian (A.D.) dates for clarity and traceability in local receipts.
- Assist in checking that procurement expenditures include comparative quotations and other supporting documents according to internal procurement policies.
- Assist in preparing financial documents for internal and external audits and KOICA reviews, helping to maintain completeness, timeliness, and audit trails.

Qualification
- Bachelor’s in management or accounting, Finance, or related field..
EXPEREINCE
- 0 years of experience required (fresh graduates encouraged).
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems and financial processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
