Position: Chief Executive Officer
Himalayan Life Insurance Company Limited, one of Nepal’s leading life insurance companies, invites applications from highly accomplished, dynamic, visionary and result-oriented professionals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for providing overall strategic and executive leadership to the Company, driving sustainable business growth and profitability, strengthening the Company’s market position, and ensuring operational excellence, sound corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic direction and overall leadership to the Company in line with the vision and objectives established by the Board of Directors.
- Drive sustainable growth in business, premium income, profitability and market share.
- Lead and strengthen the Company’s sales and distribution network, particularly the agency force, to enhance productivity, quality of business and long-term customer retention.
- Develop and execute strategies for effective agent recruitment, development, motivation, productivity and retention.
- Strengthen life insurance operations, including underwriting, claims management, product development, customer service and distribution.
- Ensure prudent financial, investment, risk and capital management of the Company.
- Maintain strong corporate governance, risk management, internal control and regulatory compliance.
- Develop a high-performing management team and foster a performance-driven organizational culture.
- Maintain effective relationships with the Board of Directors, Nepal Insurance Authority, shareholders, customers, employees, agents and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Meet all eligibility, qualification, experience, fit-and-proper and other requirements prescribed for the Chief Executive Officer of a life insurance company under the prevailing Insurance Act, regulations, directives and guidelines issued by the Nepal Insurance Authority.
- Possess a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Insurance or other relevant discipline from recognized university institution, or be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from a recognized professional accounting body.
- Have substantial relevant experience in the life insurance industry, including at least five (5) years of experience in the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) and/or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a life insurance company.
- Have demonstrated senior executive leadership experience with proven ability to formulate and execute corporate strategy and manage a large and complex life insurance business.
- Possess strong and demonstrated knowledge and experience in life insurance sales, distribution and agency force management, including agent recruitment, development, productivity, retention and performance management.
- Have sound knowledge of life insurance operations, products, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, risk management, investment, financial management and regulatory compliance.
- Possess a thorough understanding of Nepal’s life insurance market, regulatory environment, corporate governance requirements and emerging trends in the insurance sector.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
