Job Description:

World Vision International Nepal’s one-year Traineeship Program, running from January to December, provides fresh Nepali graduates with practical work experience, professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to contribute to WVI Nepal’s work while gaining valuable skills and experience for their future careers.

The Sponsorship Trainee aims to learn and develop practical skills on Child and Community Sponsorship Operations and enhance the capacity by working together with assigned teams/individuals as per assigned tasks and assists to achieve World Vision’s (WV) goal of child wellbeing.

This position will assist WVI Nepal’s West Field Office and Area Program’s Sponsorship department for overall Sponsorship Management including Sponsorship Correspondence and 3.0 by maintaining timeline and WV Global quality standards. This position will work closely with WVI Nepal’s Sponsorship department for better understanding in and among Sponsorship operations and enhancing skills and capacity in the mentioned professional area.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Understanding Sponsorship and Supporting the department

  • Learn and understand World Vision’s child sponsorship approach, standard, its vision, mission, goals to child well being
  • Understand key sponsorship business processes and requirements under sponsorship operations
  • Understand Registered Children (RC) data management and Area programs RC profile management
  • Understand WV’s Most Vulnerable Children and RC selection processes
  • Understand World Vision’s overall development programming approach and child wellbeing.
  • Understand the importance of quality correspondence and support NO correspondence focal person for timely flow of all correspondence to APs and sponsors as per standard.
  • Understand the importance of Sponsorship 3.0 products and support to review and upload such products in Horizon SSUI.
  • Support in new growth, review of media products (CUP, CUV, CGP, CGV, YUP and YUV).
  • Coordinate with PNGO team for sponsorship business products deadlines.
  • Understand the SOP technical program and its integration with other sectoral programs.
  • Be familiar with sponsorship databases such as Horizon (programmatic and sponsorship modules), and Sponsorship Dashboard and reports.
  • Provide administrative and logistic support to the respective team during Sponsorship peak hours.
  • Support team to conduct meetings and training.

Communication and Coordination

  • Communication and coordination with Field Sponsorship team and PNGO teams
  • Good coordination and collaboration with finance, SCM, MEALS and other departmental programs.
  • Provide quick responses to concern from the field.
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate information effectively

Personal Development and Transformation

  • To enhance own management skills and knowledge of development and WVI Nepal ministry
  • Be flexible and adaptable.
  • Increase own involvement in WVI Nepal ministry
  • Initiate for own learning and development
  • Keep daily learning records and prepare monthly progress reports
  • Prepare action plans based on the team plans together with supervisors and team members and act accordingly.

General Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings as per organizational requirement
  • Any other task assigned by the direct supervisor and the department head

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Education, training, license, registration and certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/ development studies from recognized university/institute or relevant field.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Willingness to commit to World Vision’s Vision, Mission and Core Values
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Have clear personal vision for one’s career growth
  • Have fluent English (speaking and writing).
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn and apply new concepts and ideas
  • Confident and ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate and translate contents/letters into English and Nepali
  • Ability to work effectively and sensitively in the diverse cultural context of Nepal
