Youth for Good Governance Promoting (YGGP) is a youth lead, non-racial, non-religious, non-political, non-profit making and non-governmental organization. It is based in Birendranagr, Surkhet. YGGP is implementing various project activities in Karnali province since its establishment to achieve envisioned goal of organization. Socially, geographically and economically marginalized vulnerable people are key beneficiaries of the organization. We believe on sustainable development approach and focusing activities accordingly. We cannot achieve the synergy result with-out proper collaboration with key stakeholder. Local Government are key wings to collaboration for program implementation and funding to sustain the development intervention.
YGGP is implementing the project ” MNH” in four municipalities across three Districts (Jajarkot, Kalikot, and Jumla) in Karnali province with financial support of SCI and technical facilitation of YGGP, Surkhet. YGGP is looking for the potential Nepalese candidates for the Surkhet based following positions.
Position: Adolescent Health and Policy Engagement Coordinator -One
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Leadership Engagement, Policy Advocacy, and Campaign
- Engage provincial and Local leaders to institutionalize adolescent-responsive MNH in health policies, strategies, programs, and budgets.
- Advocate for dedicated resource allocations and program provisions for pregnant and parenting adolescents in local and provincial annual work plans.
- Present evidence-based policy recommendations, combining project data, adolescent voices, and community-level case stories.
- Strengthen inter-sectoral linkages across health, education, social development, and women, Children, and Senior Citizen departments/sections.
- Lead campaigns to influence local and provincial governments.
2. Coordination with Implementing Partners
- Provide technical and advocacy support to 3 district partners to ensure consistent policy messaging and engagement strategies in all 4 local levels.
- Facilitate regular partner coordination meetings to share updates, challenges, and successes in advocacy and service delivery.
- Ensure advocacy and capacity-strengthening efforts are harmonized across municipalities.
3. Advocacy for Adolescent-Responsive MNH Services
- Advocate to integrate adolescent health considerations into local and provincial Safe Motherhood and Newborn Care strategies.
- Develop and adapt policy briefs, advocacy toolkits, and IEC materials considering local contexts.
4. Adolescent Participation and Community Mobilization
- Facilitate meaningful engagement of pregnant and parenting adolescents in policy dialogues, campaigns, review meetings, and planning processes.
- Promote gender-transformative dialogues in communities to challenge stigma and harmful norms.
- Support youth-led groups, mothers’ groups, and local CSOs to amplify adolescent MNH priorities.
5. Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting
- Track implementation of activities as per plan.
- Support in generation and enhance use of evidence to inform evidence-based planning to meet the needs of the Pregnant and parenting adolescents.
- Track government commitments, policy changes, and budget allocations relevant to adolescent MNH at local and provincial levels.
- Collect, document, and disseminate advocacy successes and lessons learned.
- Manage event database with quality report.
- Ensure all activities are transparent and follow the principles of child safety and safeguarding.
- Contribute to partner and donor reports with a focus on policy influence and systems strengthening.
6. Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field (Bachelor’s with strong relevant experience considered).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in policy advocacy, SBCC, adolescent health, MNH, Campaigns, or youth development programs.
- Proven track record of engaging government leadership at provincial and local levels.
- Experience coordinating with multiple local implementing partners.
- Strong understanding of Nepal’s health governance, MNH services, and adolescent health policies.
- Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Have a good skill and knowledge on computer package; word, excel, power point etc
- Have a valid license of 2 wheeler and skill too.
