Position: Counsellor
The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal is the field arm of The Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, a registered charitable Trust working, particularly for the ex-Gurkha Veterans and their communities across
Nepal. It is a charitable institution that was established and registered in the UK in 1969.
We are currently seeking applications from qualified and committed individuals for the position of Counsellor, based at our Residential Home in Shivadhara, Dharan.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Degree in Counselling, Psychology or related field (Diploma or Bachelor).
- At least two years of prior or proven experience in individual and/or group counselling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct tele-counselling using digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular in-person counselling sessions for residents at the Residential Home as and when required, generally one to two/three times a week- depending upon the requirement.
- Provide tele-counselling support to GWT staff members upon request.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all counselling interactions.
- Coordinate with the Residential Home management for scheduling the sessions.
- Provide sessions for GWT staff during the training as/when required.

Renumeration and Contract:
Remuneration for the consultancy services will be provided on an hourly basis, in keeping with the consultant’s qualifications and experience.
The initial contract will be offered for a duration of one year, which includes a probationary period of three months. Subject to satisfactory performance and organisational requirements, the contract may be renewed on an annual basis.
