Position: External Engagement and Strategy Trainee

Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to work closely with advocacy, communications and partnership team for supporting the evidence generation from the field in relation to advocacy campaign and partnership works. This position also supports to enhance reputation and influence; and contribute to public-community connections and staff engagement for World Vision International Nepal (WVI Nepal).
Ensure effectively implementation ENOUGH campaign
- Support on implementing activities related to advocacy and campaign.
- Support advocacy in systematizing the knowledge management and documentation.
- Process provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support on all matters related to the scaling up of the advocacy and campaign.
- Organizational positioning in mainstream and social media and Evidence-based content for resource generation
- As needed work with Comms team to support network and coordinate with field staff/NGO partners to collect community content and package it for various communication platforms (website, social media, publications)
- Provide support to identify and gather stories and issues from the field for use in social media focusing on campaign
- Provide support to gather and generate communication resources (stories, photos, videos) through GESI lens from field visits as and when needed related to campaign
- Support to prepare and post content in WVIN’s social media pages.
- Support Communications Officer to track WVIN mentions in the media and prepare event-wise /monthly social media and media reports
TRUSTED PARTNERSHIP
- Maintain filing and digital records of MoAs/MoUs.
- Support to organise Partner’s award
- Support to update information for Partner’s database.
- Correspond with partner organisation for partnership related information e.g. dispatching signed agreement.
- Support to conduct partner organisation’s screening
- Engage with partner organisation and relevant staff in WVI Nepal’s Field Office Cluster to collect partnership stories.
Others
- Maintain meeting minutes of all team meetings and engagements as per the functions
- Logistic arrangements during any team events or meetings
- Understand about the importance and quality of correspondence and support External Engagement and Strategy team members for timely flow of all correspondence to Field Offices as per the standard
LEARNING and DEVELOPMENT
- Learn how advocacy campaigns are designed and implemented
- Understand knowledge management systems and tools
- Develop organizational and planning skills
- Gain experience in digital communications and media strategy
- Learn how to tailor content for different platforms
- Understand media monitoring and reporting processes
- Develop storytelling skills with a focus on inclusion and equity
- Learn basic photography and videography techniques
- Understand content packaging for different audiences
- Learn partnership management and documentation practices
- Understand how NGOs collaborate and formalize relationships
- Learn event planning and coordination basics
- Understand internal workflows and team dynamics
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
- Basic understanding of advocacy, media sector, campaign and community-led development work
- Basic understanding of communication practices and products
- Basic coordination skills required
- Good experience on handling social media and media channels
- Basic knowledge in evidence gathering including photography, videography, story writing is desired
Required Education
- At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, journalism, media studies, law, development studies or relevant degree preferred
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Basic Knowledge on development facilitation in and with communities is desirable
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
- Basic facilitation skills, including catalysing, connecting, and establishing coordination among the team members
- Experience in photography and videography is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing and speaking skills in English and Nepali
- Have a good learning attitude
