General Services Staff under SAARC Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Centre (STAC) SAARC Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Centre (STAC) invites applications from qualified Nepalese Candidates for the following posts. Accountant (GSS-II)-One

Age: 21-35 / (Age up to 40 years for the female candidate)
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in B.COM/BBS/BBA/BBM
Duty Station: Thimi, Bhaktapur
Closing date: 20 December 2024
Date of Joining: Ten days (10 days from the date of issue of the offer letter)
Duration : (contractual basis for a maximum duration of three years, including a one-year probationary period, extendable based on performance and conduct).
Work Environment : In an office setting some travel may be required for attending meetings or conferences.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the STAC Director.

Brief Job Description:
Accountants help organizations make critical financial decisions and corrections. We are looking for an Accountant GSS-II to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns, and previous experience with bookkeeping, liquidity, and cash flows of STAC.

  • Proven experience in a similar Accountant role in a Diplomatic Organization/ Embassy/ Government Agencies preferable.
  •  Manage all accounting transactions
  •  Prepare budget forecasts
  • Publish financial statements on time
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  •  Ensure timely bank payments
  •  Compute VAT/taxes and prepare VAT/tax returns (if required)
  •  Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  •  Audit financial transactions and documents
  •  Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  •  Comply with financial policies and regulations

Working Experience/ duties and responsibilities:

  • Work experience as an Accountant, at least 5 years relevant experience in related posts after Bachelor’s Degree.
  •  Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Competently handling financial matters independently using computer software including budgetary control, fund release and audit.
  • Experience in financial management, foreign/donor agencies, and large governmental enterprises will be of added advantage, and command over written and spoken English is a must.
  •  Should have proven knowledge and skill of computer use and IT application use.
  •  Must be competent in using an internationally accepted accounting framework: “Tally Software”
