Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving the livelihoods of rural people in Nepal.

‘Cultivating Change in a Warming World’ project is funded by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and is jointly implemented by LI-BIRD and OXFAM Nepal in Kanchanpur, Doti and Dailekh districts. The project envisions rural women, and their communities are thriving and empowered agents of change in a fair, green, equal and safe world. It aims to increase resilience, food, nutrition and income security of rural women and their communities, and with their allies, and movement, have the power to transform the systems of inequality and rights and abuses that are causing hunger and climate and ecological breakdown. Additionally, the project aims to improve coping strategies in communities by increasing the intake of nutritious food based on local biodiversity and better management of neglected and underutilized species. The project also aims to advocate for supportive policies and institutions for farmers’ seed systems, agroecological approaches, and the implementation of farmers’ rights.

Admin and Finance Assistant (Level 4) -1 (Cultivating Change Project, based at LI-BIRD Site Office, Dailekh)
Job Summary: Reporting to the Programme Officer, the Admin & Finance Assistant (AFA) will be primarily responsible for account keeping of the project. S/he will also support the project team on administration, procurement and logistics management. S/he will coordinate with relevant staff to ensure accounting and documentation of all financial transactions are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in commerce/management, with two years of relevant work experience or 10+2 in management with four years’ experience in relevant field.
