Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving the livelihoods of rural people in Nepal.

Advocacy and Documentation Officer (Level 7) -1 (Women only vacancy, based at LI-BIRD Programme Coordination Office, Lalitpur)

Job Summary: Reporting to the Programme Development Director (PDD), the Advocacy and Documentation Officer (ADO) will support in implementation of the activities under the Himalayan Agroecology Initiative (HAI) project that include policy reviews, stakeholder mapping and analysis, consultation workshops, key informant interviews (KII), contributing for drafting and translating National Agroecology Roadmap. ADO’s key duties include coordination with different government agencies and CSOs for agroecology roadmap development and setting a foundation for creating a knowledge hub on agroecology as a Community of Practice (CoP), writing policy briefs, documenting good practices and evidence generated by LI-BIRD’s agroecology themed projects, sharing learnings and good practices through trainings, workshop, articles and social media contents. She shall also be engaged in advocacy, data management, writing and reviewing reports and articles. ADO is required to work with the local, provincial and federal government and likeminded I/NGOs for building synergies and forging partnership for joint advocacy on areas of common interest and promote good practices and innovations generated by LI-BIRD’s programmes and projects.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in agriculture, natural resource management, environmental science or relevant preferably with two years of relevant work experience in agriculture related research and advocacy sector. Candidates with a valid motorbike/scooter license are encouraged to apply.
