Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving the livelihoods of rural people in Nepal.

‘Cultivating Change in a Warming World’ project is funded by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and managed by the country partner Oxfam Nepal. It will be implemented in Kanchanpur and Doti districts from Sudurpaschim and Dailekh district from Karnali province. It aims to increase resilience, food, nutrition and income security of rural women and their communities, and with their allies, and movement, have the power to transform the systems of inequality and rights and abuses that are causing hunger and climate and ecological breakdown.

Agri Business Coordinator (Level 8)-1 Cultivating Change Project, based at LI-BIRD Site Office Dhangadhi)

Job Summary: Reporting to Team Leader, the Agribusiness Coordinator (AC) is primarily responsible for leading the field implementation of the project – providing overall leadership and management of the project in the Sudurpaschim Province. Agribusiness Coordinator’s key duties include organizing capacity building training and awareness events on farmers seed enterprises, agroecological approaches, climate change adaptation and mitigation; ensuring diversification and sustainability of the farmers field school (FFS), farmer seed enterprises; support on strengthening local seed systems and agrobiodiversity; building strong relationships and partnerships with the local and provincial government agencies, Civil Society Organizations, media and private sector stakeholders for leveraging resources and building synergies in the project implementation.

Education and Experience: Master’s in agriculture with a major in agri-economics, agri-business, or other relevant subjects with three years of work experience in agri-business management and agricultural value chain projects or similar positions.
