Assistant Program Coordinator
Location: Kumaripati, Lalitpur
Reports to: MUN Program Coordinator
Duration: 3 months with a possibility for extension
Introduction
Youth Thinkers’ Society (YTS) is a youth-led non-governmental organization established in 2014 that aims to engage, educate and empower the young leaders and change-makers of Nepal through various youth empowerment and community development projects. It has been facilitating and organizing intellectual capacity building and interactive youth programs in diverse fields of development such as Education, Entrepreneurship, Community Development, and Youth Advocacy. YTS envisions establishing networks for youth to exchange their ideas, knowledge, and goodwill across borders and has a holistic approach toward producing impactful outcomes, especially focusing on Policy literacy, Policy advocacy, and Civic engagement. In this regard, the three national chapters of YTS that run in Chitwan, Pokhara and Lamjung, aims to empower the youth resourcefully, fundamentally, and academically thereby diversifying our initiatives all over Nepal.
Objective of the Position
The Assistant School MUN Program Coordinator supports the MUN Program Coordinator in organizing, managing, and executing the Model United Nations (MUN) program. The role involves facilitating student engagement, ensuring logistical arrangements, and enhancing the educational experience of participants.
Qualification and skills
- Minimum completion of +12 (high school diploma or equivalent).
- Experience in educational program coordination or event management is preferred.
- Previous experience in MUN programs, either as a participant or organizer is preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and supporting the implementation of project activities within the set timelines.
- Assist in developing the annual MUN program schedule, including meetings, training sessions, conferences, and competitions.
- Coordinate with school administration to secure necessary permissions and resources for MUN activities.
- Help develop agendas, session plans, and training materials for MUN meetings.
- Manage communication with school staff regarding MUN activities and events.
- Promote MUN activities within the school community through newsletters, social media, and announcements.
- Maintain records of student participation, achievements, and feedback for program evaluation.
- Prepare reports on program activities and outcomes for review by the MUN Program Coordinator and school administration.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other schools, MUN organizations, and partners to enhance program opportunities.
