Assistant Staff

Working For: Embassy of the Republic of Korea(South Korea) in Nepal

Workspace Location : Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Ravibhawan, Kathmandu

Salary: Around USD 400~700 gross per month

* Decided depending on qualification and experience

 Hours: Full time

 Contract: 1 Year fixed-term with the possibility of extension

1. Job Details

The assistant staff will be required to support the diplomatic staff of the Embassy in their work, through consular or administrative support. The successful candidate will require excellent communicative abilities, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to draft quality briefing and report to deadline.

2. Job Responsibilities

The precise range of duties will vary over time of the needs of the Embassy but can include the following:

  • Able to support the work of the consular department, such as visa and notarization
  • Providing support to the diplomatic staff as required, including assisting in administrative tasks, the coordination and planning of public and private meetings, and the organization of Ministerial visits and other events
  •  Contact with police, hospitals, correctional facilities, and government offices to handle incidents and accidents involving Koreans residing in Nepal
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • The applicant’s duties may be changed to other positions according to the policy of the Embassy.

3. Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills
  •  Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Word etc.).

4. Desirable

  • Knowledge of Korean language
  • Experience working in an International Organization, Diplomatic Mission or other International Environment
  • Minimum of three years’ relevant work experience

5. Working Hours and Contract Period

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00)

– Rest Breaks: 12:00-13:30

– Overtime work (paid) may be needed depending on the workload.

  •  Contract Period: One-year contract including a probation period of three months.
  •  The contract will be renewable yearly based on work performance.
  • Expected date to start work: End of November 2024

– Unless there is any delay in a background check and security clearance.

6. Benefits

  •  Basic Salary
  •  Yearly Bonus: Amount equivalent to one month’s salary

– If the employee has worked for over three months.

  •  Provident fund
  • Medical expenses
