Management Trainee

Position: Management Trainee – Supply Chain Management

The Management Trainee – SCM will support Bigmart’s supply chain operations by driving warehouse efficiency, cost optimization, and process improvement initiatives. The role involves analyzing operational data, evaluating workflows, conducting DC visits, and piloting scalable solutions. It also focuses on inventory accuracy, stock movement, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen warehouse operations and operational excellence.

Location: Bigmart Head Office & DCs/Warehouses within and outside Kathmandu Valley

Work Schedule: 10 AM-6 PM (Training-period flexibility required, including overnight and early-morning shifts)

ONE YEAR TRAINING PERIOD:

One-year training across Bigmart’s DCs/ warehouses within and outside Kathmandu Valley, with flexible locations and rotational shifts including:

9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
3:00 AM – 11:00 AM
4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER TRAINING:

• Lead lean-cost initiatives and pilots to reduce waste and costs without affecting service levels.
• Review workflows to identify inefficiencies and improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular DC visits to identify bottlenecks and align strategy with site execution.
• Report project progress, cost savings, and KPIs to the Sr. SCM Manager.
• Drive planning and analytics for inventory, dispatch, stock accuracy, and OOS analysis.
• Pilot process improvements and recommend successful initiatives for wider rollout.
• Monitor stock movement, inventory accuracy, and adherence to warehouse best practices.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for smooth implementation.
• Mentor warehouse teams to sustain improved processes.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Education and Qualifications: Master’s degree in Management (MBA, MBS, or MBM or related field), preferably with Finance specialization, and strong academic performance in Mathematics and related subjects at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.
• Experiences: 1-2 years of relevant FMCG experience in logistics, inventory, procurement, or warehousing preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Experience in warehouse/supply chain cost optimization or lean operations.
• Strong data analysis and actionable insight skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently to Distribution Centers (within and outside Kathmandu Valley).
• Strong project management and process-scaling skills.
• Ability to work independently with structured reporting.
• Knowledge of ERP/WMS, inventory systems, KPIs, and compliance.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Adaptability to a fast-growing business environment.
• Must have valid 2-wheeler driving license and own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel and work overnight and early-morning shifts during training phase.
