Business Development Manager – Training & Technical Unit
Overall Purpose of the Job:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the growth and sustainability of our center. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing initiatives to expand our reach and increase revenue streams. The candidate will be responsible for developing and promoting the Training Unit as an appealing destination to the public for organizing training. S/he should be able to think critically when making plans and have a demonstrated ability to execute a particular strategy.
Key Task & Responsibilities:
Resources Management & Promotion: 40%
- Enhance the appeal of the Training and Technical Unit at Anandaban Hospital, making it an attractive venue for diverse groups, including the public, businesses, and organizations, to host their training programs. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to determine trends, target population, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
- Elevate the visibility and brand recognition of the Training and Technical Unit through proactive promotion to various stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to market the Training and Technical Unit for external group reservations, ensuring alignment with predetermined objectives.
- Strategize and execute promotional activities and informational sessions to highlight the Training and Technical Unit offerings.
- Utilize multiple marketing channels, such as social media, newsletters, and digital and non-digital platforms, in collaboration with the project manager, to raise awareness and attract prospective participants. Assess and monitor the effectiveness and impact of training programs continually.
- Identify and deploy diverse training methodologies aimed at enhancing efficiency and maximizing returns on investment.
- Design and deliver training sessions and workshops using various formats, including classroom instruction, e-learning, and practical exercises.
- Manage the budget and resources of the Training and Technical Unit efficiently to ensure the successful execution of training initiatives.
- Remain aware of industry trends and best practices in technical training and education to continually refine the quality and relevance of training offerings.
- Lead a team of trainers and instructional designers, offering guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing team.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with external training providers, educational institutions, and certification bodies to enrich the scope and diversity of training opportunities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for technical training-related inquiries and initiatives throughout the organization.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and GoN standards governing the operation of Training and Technical Unit, rental services, and hostel accommodations.
Program Management: 25%
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and refine course content to meet evolving participant needs.
- Evaluate training programs to ensure adherence to quality standards and attainment of desired outcomes.
- Assess the effectiveness of in-house training programs by gauging objective achievement and participant feedback.
- Evaluate third-party training effectiveness by analyzing feedback on Training and Technical Unit facilities and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals and documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client expectations and organizational standards.
- Deliver engaging presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions to effectively communicate the value proposition of our services.
- Identify training needs in collaboration with department heads and subject matter experts.
- Assess client budgets and collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals aligned with client requirements and strategic goals.
- Maintain accurate records, manage training budgets, and produce reports as necessary.
Networking: 25%
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, decision-makers, and influencers, to promote the Training and Technical Unit and secure new opportunities.
- Identify potential partners, such as educational institutions, businesses, and industry experts, for collaboration on training programs.
- Attend events, conferences, and meetings to represent the Training and Technical Unit and establish valuable connections.
- Foster and sustain partnerships to enhance the Training and Technical Unit’s resources and training offerings.
Compliance and Risk Management: 10%
- Identify potential risks and challenges in the business environment and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on our operations and objectives.
- Develop robust risk mitigation plan by implementing preventive measures to minimize the likelihood of risks while leveraging business opportunities.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments on regular basis to identify potential threats and challenges.
- Any other job as assigned by the Line manager.
Job Specification
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience in business development, technical training, and education, with a track record of success in designing and delivering effective training programs with a minimum of 5+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing and developing a team of trainers and instructional designers.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and other training technologies.
