Business Development Officer

As a Business Development Officer, the role involves strategizing and implementing promotional campaigns to drive merchant acquisition in financial services. Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to create cohesive campaign strategies, analyzing performance data, and preparing reports for strategic planning are essential tasks. The officer identifies potential merchants through market research, conducts meetings to onboard new clients, and maintains accurate records of leads and merchants. Regular visits to existing merchants for feedback, managing service agreements and AML/CFT compliance, liaising with vendors for necessary services, and ensuring organized documentation of campaigns and merchant agreements are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualification and Experience

  •  2-3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

Job Description

  • Strategize, plan, and implement promotional campaigns to raise awareness and drive merchant acquisition across all financial services domains.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to create compelling and cohesive campaign strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Collect and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly data to evaluate campaign performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Identify potential merchant prospects through detailed research and market analysis.
  • Meetings & Presentations: Schedule and conduct meetings with prospects to present service offerings and onboard them as merchants.
  •  Maintain precise records of onboarded merchants and prospective leads for future reference.
  • Regularly visit existing merchants to gather feedback, strengthen relationships, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Assist merchants with service agreements and additional documentation requirements, including AML/CFT compliance.
  •  Liaise with vendors (e.g., YCO) to facilitate necessary services within the broker domain.
  •  Prepare detailed memoranda for promotional campaigns and maintain organized records of all campaign activities.
  • Ensure all documentation related to campaigns and merchant agreements is systematically organized and easily accessible.
