Admin and Finance Officer
Founded in 2015, Centre for Social Change (CSC) is a non-profit making organization working on the changing socio-political dynamics of Nepalese society via research, education, and advocacy. CSC is mainly working on issues around conflict prevention, migration, governance, and civil society development. CSC is looking for a suitable candidate for immediate recruitment in the position of Admin and Finance Officer.
Finance and Accounting
- Records expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the books of accounts.
- Prepares payment vouchers and corresponding checks.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and other reports in timely manner.
- Checks petty cash payments and periodically reconciles petty cash balances.
- Ensures that the books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit, when required.
- Prepares monthly cash requests, and promptly advises action required to cover estimated costs.
- Review the advance settlement and payments documents to ensure that the documents are in compliance with organization rules and regulation and make the payment
- Review the travel expenses report of projects staff and make payment.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual expenditure report and prepares pipeline estimates for the project.
- Prepares bi-weekly cash requirements and monitors cash flow and reconciles cash accounts to maintain appropriate cash balances.
- Prepare book keeping as per the donor requirements.
- Ensure compliance of local laws, donor requirements and organizational policies.
Administration
- Ensures day to day administrative running of the office.
- Provide all essential support to meet the government compliance and all tax related work.
- Assist Admin/finance assistant on organizational related approval, renewal, and IRD related work.
- Assist admin/finance assistant in preparation of payroll and other regular payments with due consideration to deductions (for advances, taxes, etc).
- Ensures that government taxes are paid on time.
- Ensures that periodic inventory of the fixed assets (property) of the company is conducted.
- Assists the project in the implementation of the internal control system and financial procedures manual of the company.
- Oversees human resources management, procurement, payroll administration and any other reporting requirements for the project.
- Provide support in program activities, meeting, seminar, workshop, booking venue, preparation material and logistics support.
- Other official works assigned by the supervisor.
- Coordinate with office staff to maintain financial accountability.
Qualification and Essential Skills:
- Masters degree in accounting, finance, management, business, or other relevant field.
- At least three (2) years of professional experience in accounting and program financial management. At least one (1) years of work experience in NGO related accounting is most.
- Experience working at development programs, with experience at NGOs highly desirable.
- Experience in payroll management, petty cash management, financial reporting, and budget tracking.
- A self-starter that is able to perform under pressure is preferred.
- A strong command of FAMAS accounting software.
- Note: Please do not apply if you don’t have prior knowledge of FAMAS and working with NGO.
