Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial aspects of WorldLink Communications Ltd. The ideal candidate will be crucial in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring financial health, and supporting our continued growth in the dynamic telecommunications market.

Strategy, Planning and Management:

  • The incumbent shall act as a strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team & serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. The key areas of contribution will be to:
  • Implement policies, procedures and processes appropriate for the organization
  • Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion
  • Assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts
  • Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency
  • Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information
  • Communicate, engage and interact with the CEO, and Leadership Team to provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans of organization
  • Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models
  • Select and/or engage with consultants, auditors and investors. Recruit, interview and hire finance, accounting and payroll staff as required

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Should act as a custodian of financial planning and analysis. The key areas of contribution will be to:
  • Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports, including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations
  • Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches and/or new service offerings
  • Provide recommendations on potential returns and risks against any new investment opportunities
  • Develop, maintain and manage monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget
  • Manage financial planning and analysis department. Supervise the creation of reports, software implementation and tools for budgeting and forecasting
  • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets

Financial Relations and Policies:

  • Should act as one of the drivers in implementing and maintaining financial relations and/or policies. The key areas of contribution will be to:
  • Engage relevant stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term plans, projections and budgets
  • Represent the company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors and officials
  • Maintain banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners
  • Remain updated and current on audit best practices as well as central, provincial and local laws regarding company operations.

Finance and Accounting Team Management:

  • Should form and lead an efficient finance and account team. The key areas of contribution will be to:
  • Mentor and develop a team of senior managers and/or officers, managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic
  • Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of the direct span of control within the company divisions
  • Oversee periodic cash management and AP Department, approve payables, sign checks, authorize large wires
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process

Accounting, General Ledger, Administration and Operations:

  • Should not hesitate to act also in the traditional role of custodian of accounts and finance. The key areas of contribution will be to:
  • Supervise the finance and accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases and financial records/software
  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance and financial procedures. Ensure compliance regarding all financial functions
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
  • Ensure verification of relevant and significant benefits to staff, including but not limited to incentives to staffs
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for the company
