Position: Social Mobilizer- 62 (Sarlahi-40, Mahottari-10, Rautahat-12)
Project: Health, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and WASH in Education
Duty Station: Field Level (Municipalities/Wards)
Reports To: Program Officer
1. Position Overview
The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for mobilizing communities, conducting field-level activities, and supporting the effective implementation of the Health, DRR, and Education project. The position engages directly with households, mothers’ groups, youth groups, schools, health facilities, and vulnerable communities. The Social Mobilizer ensures community participation, awareness-raising, data collection, and coordination with local structures to achieve project outcomes.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Community Mobilization & Awareness

- Mobilize mothers’ groups, adolescents, teachers, youth groups, and community leaders.
- Conduct household visits, group meetings, and awareness sessions on health, nutrition, school safety, and DRR.
- Facilitate campaigns, street dramas, orientations, and community-based activities.
B. Support in Project Implementation
- Assist in implementing health camps, school safety activities, training events, and DRR preparedness sessions.
- Facilitate distribution of materials and ensure they reach targeted beneficiaries.
- Support behavior change communication (BCC) activities at the community level.
C. Field Data Collection & Reporting
- Collect beneficiary data, attendance, field updates, case stories, and success stories.
- Submit daily/weekly field reports to the Field Officer or District Coordinator.
- Maintain proper documentation of activities conducted in the field.
D. Coordination & Networking
- Coordinate with Ward Offices, Health Posts, Schools, and community-based organizations.
- Participate in local meetings, events, and campaigns representing the project.
- Support local stakeholders to identify vulnerable households and priority groups.
E. Community Engagement & Support
- Conduct door-to-door visits for health and education messaging.
- Facilitate community discussions, interactions, and problem-solving.
- Encourage participation of marginalized groups, women, and adolescents.
F. Safeguarding & Compliance
- Follow organizational safeguarding policies and code of conduct.
- Ensure protection of children, women, and vulnerable populations during all activities.
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to supervisors.
3. Required Qualifications
- Minimum +2 (Intermediate) in Education, Public Health, Social Science, or related discipline (Bachelor’s preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience in community mobilization (Health, DRR, Education preferred).
- Experience working with mothers’ groups, schools, or youth groups.
- Basic knowledge of local governance, community mobilization, health, and DRR.
- Ability to conduct field activities independently.
- Good communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer and mobile-app literacy (data entry, photos, reporting).
