Clinical Psychologist
Dhulikhel Hospital seeks a clinical psychologist to help patients who are dealing with stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, and other emotional and mental health issues that affect their well-being and quality of life.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Conduct initial assessments of patients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide counselling sessions using various evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, or solution-focused therapy
- Neuropsychological assessment for general cognitive functioning, learning disorders and ADHD in adults and children
- Conduct programs on educating patients and their families on coping skills, stress management, and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with other health care professionals, such as physicians, nurses and psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated and holistic care
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient information and interventions
- Conducting scientific studies of behavior patterns and cognitive function in all age group
- Researching psychological, emotional, behavioral or organizational patterns and identifying issues
- Diagnosing potential disorders and discussing methods of treatment with patients
- Engagement in Academic activities and Research related with Psychology
- Researching and writing papers on clinical psychology issues and disorders
Educational Qualification
- Master’s degree or higher in clinical psychology.
Experience
- Experience working as a psychologist counsellor in a hospital or clinical setting
- Experience in addressing psychological concerns of healthcare workers and medical students
- Experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, panic disorder, adjustment disorder as well as stress management and grief.
- Experience of conducting systematic review, research publications.
Skills/Knowledge
- Knowledge of various psychological theories and interventions (CBT,ACT,PBT) and their application to all age groups.
- Proficient in SPSS, Microsoft office
- Excellent communication, listening, and rapport-building skills
- Compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and their confidentiality
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Expected Duration of Contract: Fixed Term 12 months
