Clinical Psychologist

Dhulikhel Hospital seeks a clinical psychologist to help patients who are dealing with stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, and other emotional and mental health issues that affect their well-being and quality of life.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Conduct initial assessments of patients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide counselling sessions using various evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, or solution-focused therapy
  • Neuropsychological assessment for general cognitive functioning, learning disorders and ADHD in adults and children
  • Conduct programs on educating patients and their families on coping skills, stress management, and self-care strategies
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals, such as physicians, nurses and psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated and holistic care
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient information and interventions
  • Conducting scientific studies of behavior patterns and cognitive function in all age group
  • Researching psychological, emotional, behavioral or organizational patterns and identifying issues
  • Diagnosing potential disorders and discussing methods of treatment with patients
  • Engagement in Academic activities and Research related with Psychology
  • Researching and writing papers on clinical psychology issues and disorders

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s degree or higher in clinical psychology.

Experience

  • Experience working as a psychologist counsellor in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Experience in addressing psychological concerns of healthcare workers and medical students
  • Experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, panic disorder, adjustment disorder as well as stress management and grief.
  • Experience of conducting systematic review, research publications.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of various psychological theories and interventions (CBT,ACT,PBT) and their application to all age groups.
  • Proficient in SPSS, Microsoft office
  • Excellent communication, listening, and rapport-building skills
  • Compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and their confidentiality
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Expected Duration of Contract: Fixed Term 12 months
