Coordinator – Program Development and Knowledge Management

Job Description and Specification

A. Program Development

  • Identify potential fundraising opportunities, conduct comprehensive literature reviews, and provide well-informed recommendations.
  • Conduct research on donor trends, prepare detailed donor profiles, and engage with GNI support countries to identify funding priorities.
  • Develop and update the fundraising strategy for Good Neighbors International Nepal.
  • Collaborate with thematic teams to create compelling concept notes and proposals that align with organizational goals and donor expectations.
  • Systematically compile, update, and review donor profiles to ensure accurate and current information is readily accessible for engagement and reporting.
  • Carry out assessments, targeted research, or consult with stakeholders to gather insights and evidence, supporting informed program design and development.
  • Organize and lead workshops and events focused on proposal development, engaging donors and consortium partners to foster collaboration and alignment.
  • Proactively initiate and sustain communication with key donor representatives and potential consortium partners, preparing and sharing donor briefs and updates as needed.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive reporting to meet donor requirements, reflecting program progress and impact.
  • Assurance that all activities adhere to donor guidelines and compliance standards, reducing risk and strengthening donor relationships.

B. Knowledge Management and Communications

  • Regularly update and ensure effective implementation of the organization’s Communications Strategy to align with organizational goals.
  • Prepare, refine, and finalize the annual report, showcasing key achievements, impact, and insights from the year.
  • Support or lead the creation of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) and Behavior Change Communication (BCC) materials to effectively engage target audiences.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational teams in executing their specific communications activities.
  • Undertake field trips and visits to gather content, stories, and insights for communication purposes, enhancing visibility and outreach.
  • Develop Knowledge Management Strategy, Framework, and Action Plans.
  • Design and deliver knowledge management toolkits to develop, capture, store, and share best practices from GNI Nepal interventions.
  • Determine strategies and approaches to share information and knowledge with external and internal audiences.
  • Work collaboratively with thematic staff to identify and prioritize types of knowledge to capture and develop.
  • Work closely with thematic departments and the Program Development & Communications team to ensure knowledge management efforts are utilized in different reports and proposal development.
  • Serve as a writer of knowledge products for GNI Nepal, promoting organizational approaches and results.
  • Drive the organizational learning agenda to foster the development and use of best practices to improve programmatic interventions.
  • Produce reader-friendly information products by using infographics and relevant software
  • Support thematic departments in information management, analysis, and writing narrative reports.

C. Corporation Identity Promotion, Website and Social Media Management

  • Manage the creation and publication of brochures, factsheets, press releases, and other informational materials.
  • Ensure consistent application of the organization’s branding guidelines across all communications and materials.
  • Ensure that donors receive appropriate visibility in all communications and materials related to donor-funded projects.
  • Supervise regular reviews and updates to ensure GNI Nepal’s websites remain current and effective.
  • Conduct final checks on all content before it is posted on GNI Nepal’s social media platforms.
  • Develop high-quality, impactful content tailored for all online channels to maximize engagement and reach.

D. Capacity Building and Advocacy

  • Provide support to thematic teams and project offices in planning and executing advocacy-related initiatives.
  • Take charge of or contribute to advocacy campaigns on national, regional, and local levels to advance organizational goals.
  • Organize lesson learnt workshops for learning & capturing impactful activities
  • Capacitate staff to document and share best practices, and lessons learnt

E. Other Duties

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or agreed upon with the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • The candidates should have the following key job requirements and skills:
  • Master’s degree in Social Science, Development, Social Work, Public Policy, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, English or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in the development sector

Excellent creative writing skills

  • Proven track record of leading the program development along with creation and dissemination of knowledge products
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated networking skills, and ability to take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening skills as well as the ability to negotiate effectively with internal and external colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure with a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with relevant information technology, including knowledge management systems
