BACKGROUND

Created in 1948, IUCN is the world’s largest and most diverse environmental network, harnessing the knowledge, resources and reach of our more than 1,400 Member Organisations and 16,000 expert Commission Members. The IUCN Secretariat works together with them in a combined effort to conserve nature and accelerate the transition to sustainable development.

The Union Applications Team maintains, supports and develops critical web applications used to manage, communicate and engage with IUCN constituents (Member Organisations, Commissions Members, Council, Secretariat, Donors and Partners) that rely heavily on well-maintained data to manage the constituents, their relationships and event participation.

We are looking for a Data Maintenance and Support Associate to assist with the data maintenance and data management tasks necessary to keep our systems’ data consistent as well as with providing support to end users. The selected candidate will work directly under the Union Applications Team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Ensure correct use of IUCN’s Union Applications and IUCN Constituents data quality across the Union Application systems. Provide user support, conduct user training, monitor applications’ use and perform data clean-ups.

The specific responsibilities include:

First level support (20%)
Answer user queries:
Internal IUCN Staff requests (via ticketing system)
External constituents’ requests (via email)
Assist users with common tasks:
Provide user access
Content publishing
Data updates
Escalate complex issues

Data maintenance (60%)
Data clean-up:
Merge duplicate contacts: identify different scenarios; meet with different data owners for
clarification
Data imports:
Import new contacts on the CRM
Ensure no duplicates are created when importing
Data maintenance:
Update contacts
Consolidate data across systems
Coordinate with the ERP team to maintain consistency between systems
Validate data quality
Generate reports
Specific reports for specific team’s needs
General reports on data quality

User training (10%)
Assist in the creation of training material and help keep them updated
Conduct user trainings

Applications maintenance and data governance (10%)
Collaborate in the definition of data maintenance protocols
Maintain an up-to-date list of data maintenance protocols
Collaborate in the definition of further developments

REQUIREMENTS

  • The ideal candidate should be organised and meticulous, computer-savvy, should have a good high-level understanding of complex organisations’ structures such as IUCN’s, should be at ease performing recurring tasks to maintain the data and should be pro-active to alert for potential problems when maintaining the data.

Essential:

  • A Bachelor Degree in relevant field with at least 2 years of experience
  • Computer savvy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Organised and meticulous
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an
    advantage.
  • Previous experience with CRM platforms (or other data heavy platforms)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with CiviCRM
  • Previous experience with Drupal

SALARY

The minimum gross annual salary for this position is NPR 1’055’784. While this is an indicative amount effective as of the current date, changes may occur as per IUCN’s compensation practices without prior notice. The same applies to other organisations hosted by IUCN.
