Database Officer

Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE), a bilateral initiative of the Governments of Nepal and Switzerland, supports Nepalese youths, women, and men in gaining social and economic benefits from a federalized TVET system. Ultimately, the project has been supporting three spheres of government to deliver TVET functions as per their constitutional mandate. The project is being implemented by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) at the federal level, by the Ministry of Social Development at the provincial level, and by municipalities within these provinces at the local level, with technical support from Helvetas Nepal. Building on the experience of its phase one, the project has been supporting the governments to scale up and institutionalize work-based learning, which includes Dual VET- Apprenticeship, Training with OJT, and Workers’ Further Training. Besides, the project has been providing career guidance to youths, and students in grades nine and ten.

Helvetas Nepal invites applications from committed and experienced Nepali citizens for the following position:

Position: Database Officer (1)

Job Purpose: The Database Officer is responsible for designing, developing, managing, and resolving technical issues related to the ENSSURE MIS system. The role also includes developing, planning, and organizing capacity-building support for project staff and training providers, carrying out IT-related tasks assigned by the Country Office, and providing administrative and logistical support to the project as required.

Required Education, Experience, and Social Competence:

At least a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in IT and database management systems. Proficiency in open-source languages, and other web and scripting languages. Strong knowledge of office software applications and troubleshooting, computer networking, and server management. Working knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence tools. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction is a must.

Duty station: ENSSURE PSU in CTEVT Bhaktapur, with about 20% of field travel to project sites.

Duration: Till 15 July 2026 with the possibility of extension
