Job Description
The Driver will report to the Cluster Finance and Administration Officer and will perform following duties:
- Transport staff and visitors as instructed, observing local traffic and road safety laws following MM vehicle management policies to ensure safety of passengers.
- Always instruct passengers to use seat belts.
- Deliver and pick up equipment, materials, documents, and mail including loading/unloading baggage, equipment, etc, as required.
- Take actions as instructed and regularly maintain allocated vehicle’s cleanliness and basic maintenance, ensuring vehicle is in sound mechanical and operational condition, and equipped with health and safety equipment, spare parts and tools. Signal actual or potential problems and/or threats to the line manager.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance check and repair as required.
- Inspect and prepare the vehicle the day before field departure.
- Accurately maintain and submit daily logs for all trips, mileage, and fuel consumption including completing information required for monthly vehicle reports to be submitted to line manager.
- Assist Admin Officer to ensure vehicle insurance and registration is updated according to schedule.
- Report all minor or major accidents immediately to the line manager and Safety and Security Focal Person.
- Ensure regular communications with the line manager and report whereabouts when in the field.
- Support Operations and Finance for making regular utilities payment, preparing bank vouchers, photocopying, and scanning of documents, etc.
- Support in maintaining office store and assist in maintaining inventory/stock.
- Any other duties as instructed by Cluster Finance and Administration Officer.

Candidate Specification
- Experience as a driver with international organisations in Nepal
- Good written and spoken English is preferred.
- Grade 10 passed.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Trained or can demonstrate experience in driving 4×4 in difficult terrain.
- Excellent knowledge of road traffic regulations, road network and road safety best practices.
- Experience working in Karnali region of Nepal will be added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure’.
- Trainings on first aid, fire-extinguishers and safe driving would be strong assets.
- Good communication skills in Nepali and basic English.

Job Profile
The aim of Nepal Climate Change Support Programme Phase 2+ (NCCSP2+) is to build on the current work from NCCSP2 to improve the resilience of people in Western Nepal to current climate variability and future change.
NCCSP2+ will draw on lessons learnt from NCCPS2 to provide an effective transition and continue the implementation. The overall objective will be to deliver high quality technical and financial assistance to the Government of Nepal (GoN), so they can independently mainstream, select, implement, and manage multiple locally led climate adaptation interventions. To deliver NCCSP2+ a consortium has been formed between Mott MacDonald and Pegasys, providing leading international expertise in climate resilience in the Nepalese context, mainstreaming adaptation into government protocols and financial management.
The overall approach has been developed around the following four objectives:
Objective 1: Deliver the programme effectively, efficiently, and economically.
Objective 2: Reduce fiduciary risk.
Objective 3: Strengthen the capacity of GoN (federal, provincial and Palika) to implement and mainstream climate change adaptation programming currently and in the future.
Objective 4: Share learning from NCCSP with others and lead the coordination of partners working on climate change adaptation in Nepal.
