Result of Service
- Guide, review, edit, contextualize and assure quality of speeches of the UN Resident Coordinator. – Edit key communication materials. – Support UNIC team for the development of a media engagement strategy for the UN Resident Coordinator and RCO. – Support to UNIC team to prepare RC for media engagements including interviews, meetings with editors, press briefings.
Expected duration: 1 Feb-30 July 2025
Duties and Responsibilities
The Contractor will provide editorial, quality assurance support, and strategic guidance to the communications of the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Kathmandu in an effort to strengthen the external communication and advocacy of the UN Resident Coordinator in line with the UNSDCF and other national and global priorities.
Qualifications/special skills
- Advanced University degree in Mass Communications and Journalism, social sciences or related field.
- Substantive knowledge of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
- A minimum 15 years of experience in working with communication activities.
- Extensive experience in working on communication strategies and media engagement.
- Ability to share knowledge and experience and provide helpful feedback and advice.
- Ability to manage and work with a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
- Previous experience of working with UN agencies is an asset.
