Equagen Engineers PLLC is seeking a highly experienced Procurement Engineer (Electrical) to join our team
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sourcing and acquiring electrical components, equipment, and services for projects, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and are delivered on schedule
- Identify and assess potential suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors, foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review and understand project specifications for electrical components.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers and field technicians to ensure correct product selection and technical conformity.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate logistics with vendors to manage transportation and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies and industry standards.
- Verify that electrical products meet required standards and certifications.
- Oversee stock levels and maintain an optimal inventory of electrical material
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in procurement related activities of electrical components.
- Strong understanding of the Electrical drawings and BoM.
- Quick and effective problem-solving skills to address issues related to delays, quality concerns, or supply chain disruptions
- Precision in reviewing technical specifications, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and project milestones
- Certification or training in supply chain preferred.
- Candidates with no certification or training in the supply chain will be required to to complete the training or certification within the first six month of placement.
