Equagen Engineers PLLC is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Substation Engineer to join our team in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Job Responsibilities:

The job involves performing detailed design work, which includes preparing drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer. The individual will provide limited direction to Designers and Technicians on assigned projects and may be required to act as a design leader on projects of minor complexity.

Essential Functions of Position:

  • The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and shall have thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in one or more of the following areas.
  1. Electrical Engineering
  2. Instrumentation and Control
  3. Protective Relaying
  4. CADD Electrical
  • Shall perform with a minimum of supervision, a variety of design related duties including, but not limited to, the following:
  1. Develop complete utility substation Primary and P&C engineering design packages, including AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials
  2. Prepare computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors
  3. Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry and Company standards covering the assigned work
  4. Perform other duties as assigned

Other Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, accredited by the Engineering Council
  • A minimum of 3 year of experience in the related field, industry knowledge may be strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with software, such as Revit, Tekla or similar software.
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
