Evaluation and Research Manager

Location: Kusunti, KC Tower, Lalitpur, Nepal

Key Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. TECHNICAL ROLE

  • Assist Sr MEAL Manager to produce manuals / guidelines on baseline, evaluation, research
  •  Develop ToR for assessment, baseline, mid-term review, evaluation – for third party or internal studies to ensure quality of process and tools.
  • Ensure right methodology for researches to be led externally/ internally
  • Review study reports to ensure quality of the reports (assessment, baselines, evaluation, research) Build field capacity on Development Programme Approach A&D process Synthesize the data from evaluation, baselines in order to make sense of macro level data. Present the findings to internal and external stakeholders Produce Impact/ Child Well-being report.
  • Work as contact point for SWC evaluation together with Strategy & Governance Manger

B. COORDINATION ROLE

  • Work with Regional MEAL Advisor with regards to evaluations,
  • baselines, assessments, DPA process
  •  Work IKM Specialists in terms of inputs of evaluation data into the system Work with Techincal Heads and Operations to plan the studies with Technical Heads to work together in planning and executing sector specific studies With MAL Manager to ensure evaluation findings are captured well in learning and the indicators are updated in the progress reporting. Work with Strategy and Governance Manager in terms SWC PA reports Work with IKM Specialist on deriving secondary data from system
  • With GAM team in proposal write ups (esp. log-frame, M&E
    plan, providing evidences to GAM).

C. CAPACITY BUILDING ROLE

  • Ensure organizational (especially field level) capacity on assessment, baseline, research and evaluation

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years of development experiences in a development sector with proven record of planning and leading research including evaluations, baselines, monitoring, designing and leading surveys and data analysis.
    Required Education, training, license, registration and certification
  •  Master Degree or equivalent in social sciences, development studies (or bachelors degree with additional years of experience in MEAL)
  • Advanced data analysis including use of SPSS
  • Collect and analyse data by developing qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Experience of research design and planning & implementing monitoring system
  • Understanding of development issues in Nepal including sectoral issues (including education, nutrition, economic development, child protection) and community based development approaches
  • Led evaluations/ researches for community development in sectors including health, livelihoods, protection, education
  • Ability to facilitate theory of change, log-frame, M&E plan
  • Good quality report write up

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • M&E Frame work of different donors (USAID, DFID, DFAT, EU) and WVI Compendium of Indicators & Indicator Detail sheet
  •  Data analysis with Power BI
  • Cross-functional management experience in an I/NGO, UN/ bilateral organizational environment
  • Knowledge of humanitarian industry
  • Skill on coordination, planning, facilitation skills
  • Demonstrate collaboration & team building skills
  • Ability to influence without having authority
  •  Excellent oral and written English or Nepali communication skillsApplicant Types Accepted:
