Executive Director

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN), an autonomous body established under the Nepal Chartered Accountants Act, 1997 solely authorized to provide education, guidance, regulation and supervision of the accounting profession in Nepal, hereby invites applications from Nepalese citizens for the position of Executive Director (ED). The Executive Director shall be responsible for the overall operations of the Institute, including building the core strategies and achieving results as per the six Strategic Domains of the Institute as listed below which have been considered as Critical Success Factors for achieving ICAN’s vision and strategic direction as a Regulator of Accounting Profession of the country.

Minimum Educational/Professional Qualifications and Experiences

a. Required Qualifications

He/she should have Passed the Chartered Accountancy Examination from any recognized
accounting body having membership of ICAN.
or
He/she should have completed a master’s degree in management.

b. Required Experience

He/she should have at least ten years of post-qualification experience in “Accounting
Profession”
or
He/she should have at least ten years of post-qualification experience in the field of accounting
and management in “Officer” level or equivalent position of Government of Nepal, Universities,
Entities wholly or partly owned by the Government of Nepal,
Boards/Councils/Committees/Academies established by Special Acts, “A” Class Commercial
Banks, Foreign Delegations or International organizations.

c. Be eligible to be appointed as Executive Director of the Institute as per the prevailing laws of
the country and directives/regulations of ICAN and does not possess any grounds of
disqualification as per the prevailing laws of country and directives/regulations of ICAN.

How to apply

Interested candidates meeting the above requirements are requested to either download the Terms of Reference (ToR) (www.ican.org.np) or physically receive the ToR from ICAN and follow the application procedures therein and submit their candidacy via either physically or email to hr@ican.org.np by not later than 5:00 PM NST on 5th Bhadra, 2081 (21st August, 2024). In addition, the candidate shall also send a business plan along with application as per ToR. Only Shortlisted candidates will be called for further selection process. The Institute reserves the right to accept and reject any or all application without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
