Fiber Technician – Butwal (Splicer and Puller)

Job Description

Pulling and Installation, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

• Perform fiber optic cable pulling, routing, and placement in underground and aerial environments.Perform fiber optic cable pulling, routing, and placement in underground and aerial environments.
• Set up fiber optic enclosures, patch panels, and termination points in both Indoor and Outdoor.
• Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDRs (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers), power meters, and light sources.
• Diagnose and repair fiber optic faults, breaks, and performance issues with in SLA.
• Ensure proper signal strength and network reliability through regular maintenance.
• Follow all industry safety standards and procedures when working with fiber optic systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for fiber optic installations.
• Use appropriate PPE and adhere to OSHA guidelines when working in hazardous environments.
• Flexible to work in any location as per Organization needs.
• Can properly survey for MS , FDB and other devices(FTTH, FTTO, FTTX) planning with Pole verification.

Job Specification

• Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, splicing techniques with FTTH core knowledge and testing equipment.
• Experience with OTDRs, fusion splicers, and other fiber diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of fiber network architecture, including GPON, FTTH, and enterprise fiber networks.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor and indoor environments.
• Willingness to work at heights (on poles) and in confined spaces.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, festival holidays or on-call shifts as needed (24*7).
• Flexible for last mile service and support task as well (Multitasking).
• Bike and license mandatory.
• Android Mobile Phone: Supporting KMZ and Angular cam and normal space for photo storage.
