ANSAB is a civil society organization that has been working for biodiversity conservation and livelihoods improvement across South Asia for three decades. It places community empowerment and economic incentives at the heart of its approach, and has been consistently evolving, consolidating, institutionalizing and advancing the approaches and strategies for the promotion of community-based enterprises and value chains, natural resources management and biodiversity conservation, enabling policy environment and multi-stakeholders.
ANSAB is currently seeking qualified, dynamic and result oriented persons for the following positions for a project entitled “Scaling conservation of Himalayan plants and Fungi through sustainable trade“, funded by the UK Government through Darwin Initiative, to be implemented in ten Himalayan districts of Nepal.
Finance and Administration Assistant
Duty station: Project Office, Surkhet
Duration: 5 years, with six months’ probation period
Required number: 1
This position will be responsible for efficient and effective financial and administrative management of the field offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect all types of bills/ vouchers and related supporting documents, verify the expenditure, obtain approvals from authorized officials and send to ANSAB Head office.
- Handle Petty Cash (petty cash request, payments and deposits and reporting).
- Take responsibility for timely payments of office utilities, office supplies, taxes.
- Collect staff time sheets and leave records, verify and ensure approvals.
- Support for logistic arrangement at regional and district level events.
- Support for soliciting quotations and procuring office supplies and fixed assets.
- Support for inventory management and record keeping of all fixed assets, update store ledger, insurance of assets and periodic physical verification.
- Ensure repair and maintenance of office equipment, IT equipment and other assets at project office.
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of work experience in similar role preferably in the development field.
- Knowledge and background in general administration including logistic, procurement & inventory management.
- Knowledge with the MS office package.
- Able to communicate in written and oral in English and Nepali.
