Finance Officer

Location: Achham

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Achham, Nepal. The position is paid according to paygrade.

The objective of this position is to support on project financial management of WHH and NGO partners for quality reporting and monitoring. Ensure the project fund utilization, budget control and expenditure to properly follow the organization’s policy & compliances, coordinate with Welthungerhilfe staff, partners, and stakeholders, and contribute to the further budgeting and planning.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for smooth execution of overall financial and administrative management of the project.
  • Partner’s monitoring and provide the technical assistance to partner finance for their capacity enhance and financial management.
  • Ensure that partners’ financial reports are accurate by reviewing fund transfers, budget control, fund accountability statements and cash/bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely closure of Bank and cash book for the projects and filings as per WHH filing standards.
  • Ensure the funding status of partners and process fund request to HQ
  • Support on project audit to NGO partners
  • Assist the Finance Coordinator in preparing interim and final reports to the donor.
  • Support in the preparation of quarterly, half-yearly and annual project reports for submission to SWC
  • Prepare the cash flow and expenditure plan of the projects in coordination with the programme team.
  • Management of finances (cash and bank), administration, procurement, logistics of the WHH field office.

Your profile

  • Nepali citizen having bachelor’s degree in management or prefer the master degree on management
  • At least 5 years of similar experience in relevant field
  • Good understanding and experience on accounting & financial management working with international organizations
  • Good writing ability, both in English and Nepali, and good oral communication skills in English.
  • Have experience of worked in the similar geographical areas and has the experience and understanding of the local context
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel in the field as per need.
  • Strong team coordination, listening and consensus building skills.
