Aasaman Nepal is going to implement SRHR and Gender equality/women empowerment including ending child marriage and harmful practices Programs in Madhesh Province, in the partnership with UNFPA(Proposed). The overarching objectives of the programs are to enhance reproductive health outcomes, eliminate gender-based violence, empower women economically and socially, and reduce child marriage. The integrated approach aims to provide comprehensive reproductive health services, promote gender equity, facilitate women’s economic empowerment through skill development and entrepreneurship, and contribute to the global effort of ending child marriage. These programs collectively strive to create a society where individuals, particularly women and adolescents, have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to make informed decisions about their health, well-being, and future.
Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following position:
GBV Officer (Nos -1)
Location: Saptari
Position Type: Full-time
Overview:
The GBV Officer will play a fundamental role within the Empowered Women Prosperous Nepal (EWPN) Project, taking charge of activities at the district level. This position entails connecting all key roles within the EWPN program, providing guidance to GBV officers, Municipal Officers assisting the MEAL Officer in information management, and fostering close collaboration with the district team, local entities, and stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile, the GESI Officer will assume a vital responsibility in advancing gender equality, social inclusion, and ensuring the active involvement of diverse groups.
Responsibilities:
Program Coordination and Collaboration:
- Ensure the seamless coordination of all Empowered Women Prosperous Nepal (EWPN) program activities in the selected Palika of saptari district.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among lead roles engaged in EWPN program activities.
- Collaborate closely with the district team, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of the program.
- Maintain close coordination with the district representative of UNFPA to align activities with organizational objectives.
Program execution:
- Guide Peer facilitators and community facilitators in planning and executing EWPN program activities.
- Collaborate with the Program coordinator to provide analytical insights crucial for informed decision-making.
- Ensure that program activities are in alignment with the overarching goals and objectives of the EWPN project.
Information Management Support:
- Provide assistance to the MEAL Officer in managing program-related information, encompassing qualitative and quantitative data.
- Aid in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data pertinent to program activities.
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of data to fulfill program requirements.
Decision Support:
- Support the Program Manager by furnishing analytical information necessary for decision-making.
- Contribute to identifying challenges and proposing solutions to enhance program efficiency.
- Engage in strategic discussions aimed at enhancing the impact and outcomes of the EWPN project.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Establish and nurture close ties with government and non-governmental entities at the local level.
- Collaborate with district-level stakeholders to embed Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles into EWPN program activities.
- Coordinate with UNFPA district representatives to ensure adherence and alignment with organizational guidelines.
Peer Facilitator and GBV Champion Support:
- Provide coordination and support to peer facilitators and GBV champions in conducting Rupantaran sessions.
- Offer assistance in the operation of Safe Houses to ensure the safety and well-being of GBV survivors.
Qualification:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Studies, or Social Science, with a background in Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE), GBV prevention, and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).
- Demonstrate extensive experience (minimum3 years) in GBV prevention, local-level coordination and collaboration, advocacy, and participating in local-level planning processes.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of Nepal government GBV plans and policies, or experience in humanitarian settings.
- Have knowledge of gender equity and women’s empowerment, gender transformative approaches, GBV prevention, and sustainability principles. Additionally, possess exceptional communication, coordination, and organizational skills. Familiarity with the socio-cultural landscape of Madhesh Province, Nepal, is advantageous.
- Show a strong commitment to preventing GBV, sexual exploitation, and abuse. Possess knowledge and experience in reporting and facilitation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer software such as MS Excel, Word, or Office packages.

Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English, Maithili, Bhojpuri (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
