About The Role:
This position starts as a one-year contract with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time, permanent role based on performance.
The Head of People and Culture will be a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture. This role is essential in ensuring that Alaya and Home Loan Experts’s values are embedded in every aspect of the organisation, particularly in bridging cultural differences between the Nepalese and Australian teams. The Head of People and Culture will bring modern HR practices from Western businesses to drive employee engagement, talent management, and organisational growth.
Major Deliverables:
- HR Strategy Development: Develop and implement HR strategies that align with Alaya’s and Home Loan Experts’s mission, focusing on employee engagement, talent acquisition, and retention.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring top talent acquisition and effective onboarding programs that integrate new employees smoothly.
- Employee Development: Design and manage comprehensive training programs that promote continuous learning and professional growth across the organisation.
- Performance Management: Develop and manage performance appraisal systems that drive high performance, providing coaching and feedback to enhance employee performance.
- Culture and Engagement: Champion initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure HR practices comply with local labour laws and international standards, managing employee relations issues fairly and consistently.
Compensation and Benefits: Oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs, regularly reviewing and adjusting structures to meet employee needs and align with industry standards. - Leadership Development: Mentor and coach senior leaders, fostering leadership capabilities that align with modern business practices and Alaya’s values.
Communication and Culture Integration: Foster open communication across the organisation, bridging cultural differences between the Nepalese and Australian teams. - HR Policy Development: Develop and implement HR policies that support organisational goals, ensuring they are legally sound and culturally appropriate.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred.)
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in modern business environments.
- Business Process Outsourcing experience is desirable
Skills Requirement:
- Expertise in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organisational goals and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Proven expertise in talent acquisition, performance management and learning & development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to bridge cultural differences.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
- Ability to lead and manage organisational change, ensuring smooth transitions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Be adaptable to evolving new environments, cultures, learning and technologies
