DCA Nepal is looking for experienced and motivated candidate for the position of Head of Programme (HoP) to be a part of the dedicated and innovative team. This is a senior position, and you will be a member of senior management team. You will report directly to the Country Director. You will contribute to strategic programme development, quality assurance, strengthening partnerships and donor compliance. You will have overall responsibility for coordination and effective implementation of an innovative portfolio of programmes and projects.

DanChurchAid have been supporting development work in Nepal since the 1980s. Currently we focus on the following themes to improve the life of the most marginalised communities in some of the most remote and vulnerable regions of Nepal, applying a rights-based approach:

- Build Resilient Communities (Focusing on Resilient Livelihoods and Sustainable Food Security)
- Fight Extreme Inequality (Focusing on Governance, Human Rights and Empowerment)
According to the new Country Programme Strategy (2022-2026) of Nepal Office, we are committed to two cross-commitments: (i) Gender Equality and (ii) Climate Action.
Your key responsibility includes:
- You will play a crucial role in defining the vision, strategic direction and positioning for the Nepal programme.
- You will manage a dynamic programme team of DCA and head the partner’s portfolio.
- You will lead all aspects of the development of proposals, preparation of Annual Programme Reports, project monitoring and advocacy, networking, influencing, strengthening partnerships and donor compliances.
- You will also ensure DCA’s programme contributes to national priorities and sustainable development goals.
- You will be responsible for maintaining good working relationship with government officials, donors, implementation partners, civil society and other national and international partners.
What you bring:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Agriculture, Forestry, Disaster Management, NGO Management, International Relations, Climate Science, Social Science and/or any other relevant field
- At least 10 years of relevant experience out of which 3 years must have been in an INGO or international organization in similar role
- Proven experience of leadership and management skills contributing constructively to a working environment based on mutual respect and trust
- Proven experience in leading, nurturing, building the capacity with learning and development plans of both own staff and that of partner organisations
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills having strong networking
- Strong communications skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English and Nepali
- IT skills at an advanced user level including the Microsoft Office suite is an additional advantage
