Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a rural hospital (officially 50 beds), to the east of Kathmandu, one day’s journey by vehicle. We provide hospital services to our surrounding communities – general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, dentistry, obstetrics, and gynaecology. The Emergency Room is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The hospital is a referral centre for the district’s health posts, with referrals also coming from surrounding districts. Traumatic fractures, road traffic accidents and general trauma are seen frequently.

Health Assistant (Emergency Room & Outpatients Department)

Required No: 1

Main Role:

Work as a member of the Emergency Room team in the care of patients presenting to OCH with urgent care problems. Participate in the 24-hour Emergency Room duty roster. Also work in the Outpatients Department of the hospital time to time for wider clinical exposure and experience.

Qualification:

  • Proficiency Certificate Level in General Medicine (Health Assistant) recognised by CTEVT Nepal. Preferred Experience:
  • Newly graduated Health Assistants are welcome to apply.
  • One or two years of working as a hospital-based paramedic in emergency would be an advantage.

Salary and benefits will be according to OCH standards.

Closing date for applications is 23 Kartik 2080 (09 November 2023). Applications must be in English. There is an application fee of NRP 600 (six hundred rupees) which is payable at the time of application. Late applications will not be considered.

Interviews will take place at OCH on Monday 04 Mangsir 2080 (20 November 2023).
