Aasaman Nepal is going to implement SRHR and Gender equality/women empowerment including ending child marriage and harmful practices Programs in Madhesh Province, in the partnership with UNFPA(Proposed). The overarching objectives of the programs are to enhance reproductive health outcomes, eliminate gender-based violence, empower women economically and socially, and reduce child marriage. The integrated approach aims to provide comprehensive reproductive health services, promote gender equity, facilitate women’s economic empowerment through skill development and entrepreneurship, and contribute to the global effort of ending child marriage. These programs collectively strive to create a society where individuals, particularly women and adolescents, have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to make informed decisions about their health, well-being, and future.
Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following position:
Health Program Coordinator – 1
Location: Sarlahi District with frequent field visit to Rauthat district, Madhesh Province
Position Type: Full-time
Overview:
Health Program coordinator will play an essential role in ensuring the successful implementation of the program in the assigned districts. Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, He will be responsible for linking all lead roles in UNFPA’s program activities within the designated districts, providing guidance to Program Officers, supporting the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer in information management, and collaborating closely with the district team, local entities, and stakeholders, including government and non-government organizations. In addition, S/He will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and supervision and timely reporting of the Reproductive Health and Rights program in alignment with the approved 2024 annual work plan and budget. The incumbent must ensure the efficient execution of activities outlined in the UNFPA program agreement, while guaranteeing harmonization among various program components. S/He will spearhead efforts to enhance coordination and cooperation with pertinent government entities alongside UNFPA team members at the district program level, overseeing activities to promote synergy, cultivate collaboration within the organization and among stakeholders, and ensure program adherence to deadlines and financial allocations.
Responsibilities:
1. Program Activity Coordination:
- Ensure seamless coordination of all RHEA program activities conducted within Sarlahi and Rautahat districts.
- Link all lead roles involved in RHEA program activities to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with the district team, local levels, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth implementation of the program.
- Coordinate with the district representative of UNFPA for alignment with organizational and program objectives.
2. Program Planning and Implementation:
- Guide community facilitators and peer facilitators
- in the planning and implementation of SRHR program activities.
- Ensure that program activities align with the overall goals and objectives of the SRHR program.
3. Information Management Support:
- Support the MEAL Officer in information management, including both qualitative and quantitative data management.
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of program-related data.
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of data to meet program requirements.
4. Coordination with Stakeholders:
- Establish and maintain close coordination with government and non-government entities at the local level.
- Collaborate with district-level stakeholders to integrate RHEA program activities with existing initiatives.
- Coordinate with UNFPA district representatives for alignment and compliance with organizational guidelines.
5. Decision Support:
- Support the Program Manager by providing analytical information needed for decision-making processes.
- Contribute to the identification of challenges and propose solutions to enhance program efficiency.
- Participate in strategic discussions to improve the impact and outcomes of the RHEA program.
Qualifications:
- Master of Public Public health (MPH) preferable with clinical background
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in program coordination and execution preferably in reproductive health and rights.
- Familiarity with information management, including both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of ASN and UNFPA guidelines and procedures is an advantage.
- Comprehensive understanding of Nepal’s governmental health system, including its plans and policies concerning health services, particularly Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
- Knowledge and practical experience in addressing gender-based violence across various developmental stages, including in humanitarian contexts.
- Proficiency in implementing the principles of Prevention from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child safeguarding, and integrating safeguarding measures into program planning, implementation, and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated track record in effectively coordinating a diverse team of staff, experts, and consultants within the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) sector.
- Strong networking abilities and extensive experience in collaborating with government counterparts and relevant stakeholders in the health sector.
- Hands-on expertise in utilizing computer software such as MS Excel, Word, and other office packages for practical applications.

- Willingness to conduct field visits as necessary.
Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English, Maithili, Bhojpuri (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
