Association of Medical Doctors of Asia-Nepal (AMDA-Nepal) was established in 1989 and was officially registered in the government office as an NGO in 1990. It is a humanitarian, nonprofit-making, non-political, non-sectarian, social organization working with its mission to promote the health and well-being of the underprivileged and marginalized people under the slogan “Better quality of life for better future”. AMDA Nepal is providing curative and preventive health services through its hospitals and projects in different parts of Nepal. AMDA Nepal also established academic health programs focusing to produce middle-level health professionals, offering various diploma level programs. This initiative reflects a commitment to evolving healthcare education and preparing skilled professionals for the future.

The USAID Sustainable HIV Epidemic Control Project will deliver relevant and efficient direct service delivery that is effective in surging, scaling, and sustaining HIV services and systems for long-term epidemic control with focus on filling existing HIV prevention, case finding, and treatment gaps, on building long-term sustainability to attain and maintain epidemic control.

This project will be implementing HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services primarily among the female sex workers and their clients, male sex workers and their clients, men having sex with men, transgender people and people living with HIV and their partners and children in four districts of Koshi Province, namely Ilam, Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari, in close coordination with other partners/sub-partners, National networks of KPs/PLHIV and Community Based Organizations (CBOs).

The anticipated project period is 2 years, to be funded by USAID Nepal.

Position: HIV Prevention Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing activities related to the project under the guidance of HIV Service Director and Program/M&E Specialist.
  • Provide overall guidance and support to the field team for higher case-finding through Index testing approach, regular coach/guide case-management team for ART initiation, retention, and viral load suppression.
  • Prepare supportive supervision and monitoring plans for onsite coaching and mentoring for staff members.
  • Effective coordination with governmental and non-governmental organization and participate in the meeting as appropriate including participation in district and Provincial level meetings. Advocate and promote for 95-95-95 including evidence-based discussions.
  • Assist data entry in ONHIS/DATIM and regular analysis of daily achievement in CoPCT cascade.
  • Support in preparation of annual implementation plan and MEL plan.

Duty Station: Koshi province (Jhapa/Sunsari)

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, clinical health and/or social sciences. Five (5) years of direct experience in key population programming.

Preferences:

  • Prior experience implementing PEPFAR supported programs is preferred.
  • Type of employment: Time Based Employment (Contract, full-time)
