JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal is the field arm of Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, a registered charitable Trust working, particularly for the ex-Gurkha Veterans and their communities across Nepal. It is a charitable institution that was established and registered in the UK in 1969. We are currently seeking applications from qualified and committed individuals for the position of Information Support Assistant (Info Sp Asst), based at this Trust’s Headquarters in Pokhara.

Position: Information Support Assistant

1. Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  •  At least Diploma in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Development Studies, or relevant discipline (Bachelor’s degree desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant administrative, coordination, or data support role.
  • Proficient in key MS Office and MS 365 applications (namely Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS, OneDrive, Forms) and use of SharePoint, file storage, or document systems.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Nepali (spoken and written).
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organisational skills.

2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing correspondence (mails, newsletters, official documents) with timely dispatch and delivery to/from HQ, AWCs, BGP, KAAA, and others.
  •  Keep an up-to-date log of all GWT(N) visitors using the Visitors’ Tracker.
  •  Report faults/damages in HQ facilities to DION BGP and follow up on repairs.
  • Assist in the initial drafting of visit/trek programmes for GWT, MOD, and BGN delegations in coordination with XO and Info Sp Coord.
  •  Coordinate accommodation and meal arrangements for training and event staff.
  • Update and distribute the GWT(N) Telephone Directory as needed.
  • Collect routine returns and reports, ensuring timely submission to concerned authorities.
  •  Support all day-to-day administrative and clerical tasks at HQ, as directed by the Information Sp Coord or XO.
  • Assist GWT(N) visitors with obtaining ACAP and TIMS permits for trekking.

3. Renumeration and Benefits:

The Information Support Assistant position falls in EG3L1 in our pay structure, with a basic monthly salary of NPR 72,237. For internal candidates, prevailing salary, or whichever is higher, is applicable
for transferring level.

All other benefits and facilities will be provided in accordance with GWT(N) Standing Instructions. The initial contract duration is three years, with the possibility of extension based on organisational
needs and individual performance.
