Migration Health Nurse

Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Provide general assistance to all nursing activities:
- Conduct identification of all clients in every nursing activities before performing the task, taking complete medical history based on the technical instruction of specific country.
- Take correct vital sign and record in the history form before submitting to panel physician including vaccination record.
- Assist panel physician as chaperone for the requirement as technical guidelines.
- Assist Head Nurse in immunization, TB clinic and assembling the completed and hold files of different country.
- Follow the Health Assessment Programmers’ check lists and SOP’s and maintain standard universal precautions within MHAC.
- Assist nurses in medical emergency management as well as with chronic case management and related procedures. Arrange for specialist consultations and ensure receipt of specialist reports as assigned.
- Prepare list of medical drugs and supplies for ordering as requested by the Migration Health Physician or Migration Health Nurse, assist in inventory taking, confirm and receive ordered drugs and supplies; all in close coordination with the procurement and finance team.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data protection of the client.
- Maintain cleanliness and promote infection prevention control throughout the procedure.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from accredited institution with two years of relevant clinical experience required; or
- Intermediate in Nursing, with at least four years of relevant work experience
- Valid nursing registration with NHPC.
Experience
- Effectively applies knowledge of health issues in execution of responsibilities at appropriate level.
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work.
Skills
- Communication and patient care.
Languages
- Fluency in English, Nepali is required.
