. Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO) Nepal is one of Nepal’s leading psychosocial organizations. It was established in 2005 to promote the psychosocial well-being and mental health of people in conflict-affected and other vulnerable communities through the development of sustainable, culturally appropriate, and community-based psychosocial support systems.
Project information:
ALIVE is a research project aiming to develop and test the feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of intervention for preventing depression and anxiety among adolescents (ages 13-15 years) living in poverty-affected urban settings in Nepal. The project is being implemented by TPO Nepal under the support of the Wellcome Trust via King’s College London. The intervention under the pilot RCT will be delivered by trained facilitators in groups for 20 weeks – weekly for the adolescents and monthly for the caregivers. The intervention sessions will be supervised and monitored by trained supervisors.

Major responsibilities:
The Intervention Facilitators (Psychosocial) will be responsible for the following duties:
- Participate in the Training of Facilitators (ToF) for implementing the ALIVE psychosocial intervention among the research participants (adolescents and caregivers)
- Participate in practice rounds to implement the intervention sessions and ensure self-competency
- Implementation of the intervention sessions among the research participants as per the ToF and intervention manuals
- Ensure the quality and fidelity of the intervention sessions while implementing the intervention sessions
- Participate in the regular supervision meetings with the intervention supervisors during practice sessions and actual intervention implementation
- Perform all the other tasks required for the implementation of ALIVE intervention as assigned.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- PCL nursing (staff nurse), or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health
- Prior experience working with adolescents and their parents
- Priority to those experienced in delivering psychosocial trainings in community level
- Experienced in conducting in-person training will be an added asset
- Skills in martial arts will be an added asset
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in Nepali
- Age between 20-30 years
- Having a driving license for a motorbike or scooter will be an added asset
