Employee Contract Type: Local – Intern (Fixed Term) (Trainee)

Job Description:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful Installation & configuration of Software on end users’ computers:

• Setup new computers (Desktops, Laptops) including installation & configuration of O.S. (MS Windows), Office Suit (MS Office) & other necessary software to be used by WVIN staff.

Installation & configuration of Peripheral products:

• Setup new peripherals like Printers, Scanners, digital Photocopiers etc. on staff’s computers.

LAN & Internet connectivity on end user’s computers, Tabs, Smart Phones:

• Setup & configure LAN (both wired & wireless) connectivity & hence Internet connectivity on users’ computers, Smart phones or any other personal productivity tools whenever required.

Support for Information systems to end users SLA response and resolution is 100%:

• Provide L1 support to end users in terms of IT for various IT systems/tools used either in person or remotely or sometimes by making travel to the problem location if needed.
• Track issue logged in service management platform and provide initial level support.
• Escalate logged issue to expert if unable to resolve.

Tracking repair/maintenance of IT equipment:

• Follow up with vendors for repair & maintenance work IT (EDP) equipment’s and ensure these equipment’s are in working condition before delivering them to users.

Fixing of computer & network connectivity problems at end users’ workspace:

• Troubleshoot PCs for both hardware & software problems and Network/Internet connectivity problems on staff’s computers

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

Required Education, training, license, registration and certification:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (IT, Electronics/Computer Engineering, Computer Science)

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

Knowledge

• Knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems like Windows 7, Windows 10
• Knowledge of using MS Office Suit applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• A basic understanding networking concepts, structured network cabling & network file and print services.
•  A basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing concepts.

• Develop strong understanding of local politics and how it affects development processes to enhance own management skills and knowledge of development and WVIN ministry in the WVIN context
• Be flexible, adaptable and Initiate for own learning and development in the WVIN context. Keep daily learning records and prepare monthly progress reports
• Prepare action plan based on the team plans together with supervisors and team members and act accordingly
• Visits to working area offices is required if need for IT support infrastructure
