‘Green Evolution: Pathways for Food System Transformation’ is funded by the Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is implemented in Surkhet, Dailekh and Jumla covering five municipalities. The project aims to support the implementation of national pathways towards equitable, responsible and sustainable food systems and is expected to strengthen the local agroecological systems through improved policy frameworks, operational structures and multi stakeholder cooperation at all levels.

Marketing and Value Chain Officer (Level 7)-1, (based at LI-BIRD Site Office, Birendranagar, Surkhet)

Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Program Officer (SPO), the Marketing and Value Chain Officer’s (MVCO) key duties include planning and implementing project activities especially the value chain development, cooperative’s capacity development on entrepreneurship and participatory guarantee system (PGS), data management and report writing. The MVCO will provide technical support to the local partner organization and coordinate with the local government and other key stakeholders for effective project implementation, building synergies, resource leveraging and scaling up of potential innovation with a focus to agroecology-based value chains.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in agribusiness or agriculture economics or equivalent in related fields, with 2 years of work experience. Candidates with valid motorbike/scooter license and working experience in agriculture value chain development, agroecology, market strengthening, participatory guarantee system (PGS) and private sector promotion are encouraged to apply.
