JOB TITLE: MEAL and Documentation Coordinator

Child Safeguarding Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post holder may require having regular contact with or access to children or young people because the position holder works in the implementation of the country program and are visiting program frequently.

The Sr. MEAL and Documentation Coordinator will lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning (MEAL), and documentation functions for the flood response project. The role will ensure the availability of quality data and evidence to support new project development, program implementation, reporting, accountability, learning and adaptation, and decision-making. The position will also support systematic documentation of response achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and beneficiary experiences while ensuring data quality, accuracy, and compliance with organizational standards.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- In consultation with the Senior MEAL Manager, roll out disaggregated data collection tools, methodologies, and systems across humanitarian projects to ensure consistent data collection and reporting.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete collection of program and beneficiary data from field teams, volunteers, and implementing partners using approved tools, formats and reporting templates.
- Under the guidance of the Senior MEAL Manager, support field teams in understanding and applying approved monitoring tools, indicators, reporting templates, and data collection procedures.
- Maintain and update project monitoring databases and tracking systems to support program implementation and reporting requirements.
- Ensure data is disaggregated by age, sex, disability, and other relevant vulnerability criteria in line with organizational and donor requirements.
- Monitor indicator performance and progress against project targets and response objectives.
- Ensure humanitarian program data is appropriately reflected in PRIME, OPMIS, and other organizational information management systems.
- Contribute in the preparation of situation reports, donor reports, management updates, and other reporting requirements along with UNOCHA 5W update, SWC update and others using verified datasets.
- Contribute to assessments, PDM, After Action Review, Real Time Review/evaluations, surveys, and learning write shop conducted during the response.
- Document and collect success stories, anecdotes, case studies, beneficiary testimonials, and lessons learned in close coordination with the Information & Communications Coordinator.
- Maintain an organized repository of humanitarian program documentation and evidence, including assessments, reports, datasets, photos, case studies, and learning products.
- Ensure documentation is properly categorized, stored, and accessible for reporting, communication, donor, and audit purposes.
- Provide technical support and capacity strengthening to field teams and partners on monitoring systems, data collection, reporting, and documentation processes.
- Coordinate closely with program, sectoral, and support teams to ensure alignment between program implementation, monitoring, and reporting requirements.
- Verify information from multiple sources before sharing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure informed consent has been obtained and documented prior to collecting or sharing personal information, images, or testimonials of children
- Ensure sensitive information is handled appropriately and in accordance with data protection requirements and SCI’s principles
- Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION:
- A minimum of 3 years’ (2 years for GSI ) experience in MEAL with the master’s degree in social science or relevant areas or 5 years ( 4 years for GSI group) of experience MEAL with bachelor’s degree in social science or relevant areas
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Excellent monitoring, evaluation, and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Kobo, or similar data management and visualization platforms.
- Experience managing organizational information systems and databases.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Strong experience in assessments, analysis, reporting, and information management.
- Knowledge of international child protection frameworks, safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles.
- Ability to travel extensively to flood-affected and remote locations.
- Fluency in English and Nepali, both written and spoken
- Ability to collect and verify information under tight deadlines.
- Commitment to the aims and principles of SCI in particular, a good understanding of the SCI mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
- Ability to establish good working relationships and positively contribute to a team
