Change Action Nepal (CAN) is recruiting staff for the following positions to implement a child protection system strengthening project in the Sindhupalchowk district with a special focus on climate-vulnerable locations. The project aims to combat child exploitation through initiatives led by children and youth, integrated services, and advocacy for gender justice, with an emphasis on increasing reporting and prosecution. CAN is committed to implementing the project activities in coordination and collaboration with TDH, local government, and other concerned stakeholders. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer (1) based in Sindhupalchowk

The MEAL Officer will provide methodological and technical support to the project team to develop and implement guidelines and tools on MEAL to ensure the quality of the project work. The incumbent will help develop an institutional culture that encourages critical thinking, collective learning, and teamwork, as part of the organization’s focus on quality and accountability. The Officer will lead the development and implementation of the project MEAL framework, monitoring tools, and systems for the collection and analysis of data, working in coordination with the project team. S/he will also be responsible for communicating and sharing the knowledge and information, learning, and updates of the project.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a MEAL role within projects, with strong competencies in developing MEAL plans, conducting assessments, data management, and implementing Complaint Feedback Response Mechanisms (CFRM).
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and data analysis software.
  • Proficiency in managing and utilizing Google Sheets and Kobo Toolbox.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Nepali and English and skills in documentation and reporting.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Inclusive Sports Officers (2) based in Sindhupalchowk

The Inclusive Sports Officers will be responsible for implementing sports activities designed to engage vulnerable children and youth, focusing on protection, social inclusion, and community engagement. The field-based position will work closely with the project team, community members, local government, and consortium partners to promote inclusive sports as a tool for social change and child protection. The incumbent will facilitate sporting and learning sessions, build relationships with communities, document activities, and contribute to collective learning. The Officers will assist the project team in adapting a specific sports-based toolkit, implementing a complaints feedback response mechanism, and supporting the development of data collection and reporting tools to ensure that project impacts are effectively measured and documented.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Social Work, Development Studies, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in development and humanitarian contexts.
  • Has a strong understanding and possesses technical skills in mainstream sport.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (MS Office: Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel as required and work on evenings and weekends for program activities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in both Nepali and English.
