Okhaldhunga Community Hospital is a rural hospital (officially 50 beds), to the east of Kathmandu, about one day’s journey by vehicle. We provide a comprehensive maternity service to our surrounding communities (approx. 1200 deliveries per year) in addition to general medicine and surgical, orthopaedic, paediatric, and gynaecological services. When necessary, we can make use of the excellent President Women Upliftment Programme for helicopter evacuation. We run primary and secondary care outpatient facilities and have an appropriate range of investigative and therapeutic options. The hospital is also associated with a thriving community-based rehabilitation programme in Okhaldhunga district.

Medical Officer

Required No: Few

Main Role
Work as a member of the hospital medical team, providing care to inpatients, outpatients and the emergency room. Participate in the doctors’ on-call duty roster.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent from a recognised university, with registration from the Nepal Medical Council.

Preferred Experience

Newly graduated Medical Officers are welcome to apply.

One to two years of experience as a hospital-based Medical Officer would be an advantage.

Grade level 9. Salary and benefits are according to OCH standards.
