Position: Lab Supervisor
Qualification: M.Sc. in MLT (Biochemistry, Hematology and Microbiology)
Required Number: 1
Location: Tansen, Palpa
Experience: 2-3 years in Clinical Laboratory (Preferred)

Job Description:

1. Supervise Daily Lab Operations

  • Ensure the smooth operation of daily laboratory activities, including specimen collection, testing, and reporting. Oversee lab staff and assign tasks as needed.

2. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Implement and maintain quality control protocols to ensure accurate and timely test results. Regularly review testing procedures and address any quality-related issues.

3. Compliance with Standards & Regulations

  • Ensure the lab operates in compliance with all relevant regulatory standards (e.g., NABL, ISO 15189:2022) and laboratory accreditation requirements. Keep up to date with any regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.

4. Staff Management & Training

  • Supervise lab technicians, technologists, and other staff. Coordinate training and continuous development programs to ensure the staff is competent and up-to-date with lab practices.

5. Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Monitor laboratory inventory and ensure that all necessary supplies and reagents are available. Oversee the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure the lab adheres to all safety protocols, including biohazard management, PPE compliance, and waste disposal. Conduct regular safety audits and enforce corrective actions when necessary.

7. Data Management & Reporting

  • Oversee accurate record-keeping for all lab tests, including sample tracking, result reporting, and proper data storage. Prepare and present regular reports to the lab manager or management.

8. Collaboration with Other Departments

  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and sales teams to ensure coordinated operations, timely test processing, and efficient communication of results to doctors and clients.

9. Problem Resolution

  • Address and resolve any technical issues, staff concerns, or patient complaints related to laboratory services. Serve as a point of escalation for complex problems that require supervisory intervention.

10. Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the lab and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, or improve the accuracy and speed of testing.

11. Budgeting & Resource Allocation

Assist in managing the lab’s operational budget by efficiently using resources and ensuring cost-effective procurement and utilization of lab materials and equipment.
