Job Description

Network Management:

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Implement security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.

System Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Perform system backups and ensure data integrity.
• Install and update software and applications.
• Monitor server performance and optimize resource utilization.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security policies and protocols to safeguard data and systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Apply patches and updates to address security vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Respond to user-reported issues and provide technical support.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference.

Network and System Monitoring:

• Use monitoring tools to track system and network performance.
• Set up alerts to proactively address issues and downtime.
• Capacity planning to ensure resources meet current and future needs.

Documentation:

• Maintain detailed documentation of network and system configurations.
• Create and update network diagrams, asset inventories, and procedures manuals.

Disaster Recovery and Backup:

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup procedures.
• Conduct regular backup testing to ensure data recovery readiness.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other IT teams, such as cybersecurity and helpdesk, to address issues and implement projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required Skills

• Attention to details and Quick learning ability
• Ability to work independently.
• Persuasive in both communication, presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to deliver on tight schedules

Other Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSA) may be required or preferred.
• Proven experience in network and system administration.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, server operating systems, and security practices.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for tasks and processes.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
