Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a project of United Mission to Nepal Medical and Development Trust (UMN MDT), working in communities for the health, education, and self-reliance of those living in poverty in Nepal, carrying out other social service work for the public good. It is a 50-bed general hospital east of Kathmandu providing quality and affordable healthcare to the people of Okhaldhunga and surrounding districts – including general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics, and gynaecology. Associated programmes of the hospital include community-based rehabilitation, mental health, and the Okhaldhunga School of Health Sciences which trains staff nurses (PCL Nursing).
OCH is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for the following job vacancies:
Position: Pharmacist (Grade level 6)
Required No.: 1
Main Role
Work in OCH pharmacy in checking prescriptions, dispensing medications for both inpatients and outpatients, stock inventory and control, advising hospital administration and clinical staff on drug interactions and reviewing any adverse drug reactions occurring within the hospital. Supervising pharmacy assistant staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
Preferred Experience
- One or two years of working as hospital or community pharmacist would be an advantage.
- Newly graduated pharmacists are welcome to apply.
Position: Pharmacy Assistant (Grade level 4)
Required No: 1
Main Role
Under the supervision of Pharmacist or Pharmacy-in-Charge, work in OCH pharmacy in checking prescriptions, dispensing medications for both inpatients and outpatients. Counselling patients about side effects and checking for any possible drug interactions. Checking stock inventory.
Qualifications
Diploma of Pharmacy (DipPharm)
Preferred Experience
- One or two years of work experience as a pharmacy assistant would be an advantage.
- Newly graduated pharmacy assistants are welcome to apply.
